- Description
- Online learning is now commonplace in courses as diverse as physiotherapy, music and architecture. Nevertheless, the unique requirements of particular disciplines are sometimes perceived as barriers to online or blended learning. With the aim of identifying opportunities for expanded online curriculum and transferrable pedagogy, a small group of lecturers from various disciplines were interviewed about their practice as facilitators of online and blended learning. More similarities than differences were evident in their practices. Notable differences had less to do with discipline-specific pedagogy than personal teaching philosophy and preferences regarding course design and particular communication tools.
